Most of us face times when we need new challenges and are considering career change. Career coaching is primarily an information gathering process with a supportive ‘facilitator’ that enables a person to make the best or most suitable career choice - within a relatively short space of time.
We would do some ‘stocktaking’ to establish who you are at this point in your life by starting with a basic personality exercise, self-assessments of values, interests, limiting assumptions/‘barriers’, career drivers and a personal SWOT. These exercises are all done in your own time and sent to me before sessions.
Any recent psychometric exercises that you have would also be added to the information on the table.
We would also consider your talents, skills, competencies, experience, qualifications and other factors that might distinguish you from others, i.e. your unique competitive advantages or unique ‘selling points’.
The process usually provides useful information that will enable us to update your CV and LinkedIn profile - to ensure that they accurately reflect your unique offering and help to present you in the best light possible.
I find that most of my career coaching clients manage to collect enough information to be able to move forward with their lives and careers after 2 to 4 sessions – usually over a period of 2 to 3 months.
